The Adventure Continues

(Winter 2013)
It has been a good long while since I've posted anything...almost two years in fact. I had originally meant this blog to be one covering the adventure that was my internship in Romania. Those posts are still up (although I've realized that they consisted of mostly pictures), but recently I decided that perhaps those posts shouldn't mark the end of the blog because it certainly isn't the end of my adventuring.

Since my internship I've graduated from college, accepted my first big girl job (my first job as a college grad), applied for.... (well, applied for something that I won't talk about until next post because I refuse to let it be a star player in my 'come back post') and many other things. I think more important to me than these big happenings, have been the small joys & experiences as well as the lessons I've learned along the way. Despite its perky name (look back at one of the earliest posts for an explanation), I don't mean this blog to be all sunshine and rainbows.

While yes, I enjoy being optimistic, I know not everything is happy and perfect all of the time. For instance, I have no problem saying that the decisions I've made since my last post have been hard. I greatly disliked making them in the moment (as they were coupled with lots of anxiety, doubt, and tears). However, through all that unpleasantness I was able to grow, feel more confident and find peace. Part of my reasoning for continuing this blog is to help me find that silver lining in difficult situations. Sometimes

they're hard to find, but talking it out makes them more obvious.

I have often been of the mind: 'if people what to know what's going on with me, they can ask me in person.' And while I still look forward to spending time with friends and getting to talk about life with them, I've really enjoyed my friends' blogs and have realized that blogging can be a way to connect. So please leave comments, talk with me on this blog. Well, this is the end of my first blog post back. I'll be writing again soon! Have a wonderful day!
